Homebuyer Counseling & Free Tax prep
The University Neighborhood Housing Program holds homebuyer counseling sessions at the Northwest Bronx Resource Center, 2715 Bainbridge Ave., offering free one-on-one professional assistance (appointments are available on the first and third Friday of every month) and free tax preparation sessions most Wednesdays (1 to 5 p.m.) and Saturdays (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) until April 9. Poster Contest
The Bronx Borough President’s Office invites Bronx students in all grades to enter its “Respect Our Block” poster contest. This event is geared towards quality of life issues and borough pride. NYC’s Summer Youth Employment Program is accepting applications for residents ages 14 to 24 through April 25. Those chosen will be selected via lottery drawing. MetroCard vans will be making stops on the second and fourth Friday of each month at Fordham Road and the Grand Concourse from noon to 2 p.m.; and Fordham Plaza from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Seniors with photo ID may apply for reduced fare cards and others may add value or purchase cards.
