MTA Weekend Subway Service Updates for The Bronx

The MTA has advised of the following citywide weekend subway service updates, also viewable as a map:

  • 2 trains aren’t running between 3rd Ave-149 Street and 135th Street.
  • 3 trains aren’t running at all.
  • 5 trains aren’t running between East 180th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse.
  • A  C​​​​ trains are running on the F​​ between West 4th Street-Washington Square and Jay Street-MetroTech.
  • F​ trains aren’t running between Church Avenue and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue.
  • J  trains aren’t running between Broadway Junction and Marcy Avenue.
  • M trains aren’t running at all.

Major Subway Service Changes affecting The Bronx 

2 Trains, The Bronx and Manhattan

2 trains aren’t running between 3 Ave-149th Street and 135th Street from 11:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, because of track replacement.

  • 2 trains are running in two sections:
    • Between Wakefield-241st Street and 3rd Avenue-149th Street, every 12 minutes during the day and evening.
    • Between Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College and 135th Street and on the ​3 to/from Harlem-148th Street, skipping 145th Street in both directions.
  • For service between 3rd Avenue-149th Street and 135th Street, take free shuttle buses, which are running on three routes:
    • Nonstop between 3rd Avenue-149th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse.
    • Nonstop between 149th Street-Grand Concourse and 135th Street.
    • Nonstop between 3rd Avenue-149th Street and 135th Street.
  • At 3rd Avenue-149th Street, all 2​ trains are boarding at the Manhattan-bound platform.

5 ​Trains, The Bronx

5 trains aren’t running between East 180th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse Saturday and Sunday because of track replacement.
  • 5 trains are running in two sections:
    • Between East 180th Street and Eastchester-Dyre Avenue, all weekend.
    • Between 149th Street-Grand Concourse and Bowling Green, every 20 minutes.
  • For service between East 180th Street and 3rd Avenue-149th Street, take the ​2.
  • For service between 3rd Avenue-149th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse, take free shuttle buses.
  • 149th Street-bound 5​ trains aren’t stopping at 138th Street-Grand Concourse. For service to/from this station, take the 4​.

 

Other Subway Service Changes

D​​​​ trains, the Bronx

Manhattan-bound D​ trains aren’t stopping at 182nd-183rd Streets from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.

  • For service to/from these stations, take a Norwood-bound train.

 

MTA officials said these service changes are subject to change, so check the MTA homepage before heading out, where you’ll find up-to-the-minute information on subway, bus, and rail service. The MTA and TrainTime also provide real-time service information.
