Mt. Hope: Two Sought in Armed Robbery

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying and locating the people seen in the attached who they say are wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred in Mt. Hope.

Police said that on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at around 2 p.m., the two people met a 40-year-old male victim in the vicinity of Valentine Avenue and East Burnside Avenue. “The victim expressed interest on Facebook Marketplace to purchase a cell phone,” a police spokesperson said. “During the transaction, a dispute ensued and the unknown individuals, acting in concert, displayed a firearm and forcibly removed $700 from the victim.”

 

Police said the two then fled in a white Mercedes Benz sedan traveling on East Burnside Avenue. “The vehicle was subsequently recovered,” the spokesperson said, adding that the victim was uninjured.

They said the first suspect is described as male, is around 5 feet, 8 inches tall, has a medium complexion and a medium build. They said he has tattoos on his neck and right arm. They said the second suspect is described as male, is approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall, has a dark complexion, a medium build and a beard.
