Mt Hope: Three Sought following Robbery of 34-Year-Old Man

The NYPD is asking the public’s help identifying the two people seen in the attached photos who are sought for questioning in connection to a robbery by a group of three that occurred in Mt. Hope.

Police said that on Saturday, Sept. 3, at around 9.30 a.m. in front of 1 East Burnside Avenue, a 34-year-old male victim was walking along the street when the driver of a white, Kia Telluride SUV pulled up alongside him, and three people got out and surrounded him.

Police said one of the three allegedly gestured to the victim’s waistband and said to the victim, “If you move, I’ll shoot you,” as the other two allegedly proceeded to steal the victim’s Samsung Galaxy cell phone and $70 in cash.

Police said the victim ran away from the group and they gave a brief chase before reentering the SUV, and fleeing the scene. “The vehicle was last observed on Argus camera at the corner of Davidson Avenue and West 177 Street,” a police spokesperson said. “There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.”

The first assailant was described as a man in his 40s who weighs around 280 pounds and has a heavy build, a dark complexion, is around 6 feet tall and has short, dark hair. He was last seen wearing a white, pin-striped New York Yankees jersey, gray jeans, and white sneakers with a blue baseball cap.

A second assailant was described as female, had a heavy build, long dark hair, and a dark complexion. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, gray pants, and white/gray sneakers. The third assailant was described as female, had a dark complexion, and long, red hair.

The New York license plate of the Kia Telluride white SUV was #JHU9322.
