Mt. Hope: Police Launch Murder Investigation after Man is Fatally Shot

A man has died following a fatal shooting in Mt. Hope, police said.

 

An NYPD spokesperson said that on Thursday, Dec. 19, at around 7.27 a.m., officers from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a man who was shot in the vicinity of East 175th Street and Monroe Avenue.

 

“Upon arrival, officers observed an unidentified, unconscious, and unresponsive adult male with a gunshot wound to the torso,” the spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported the male to NYC Health and Hospitals/St. Barnabas, where he was later pronounced deceased.”

 

Police said there are no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing. They said the medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

The identification of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
