Mt. Hope: Man Sought for Armed Robbery at Snipes Store

THE NYPD IS asking for the public’s help locating the person seen in the attached photo who police officials say is sought in connection with a commercial robbery that occurred at 66 East Burnside in Mt. Hope on July 7, 2023.  

The NYPD is appealing to the public for help identifying and locating the person seen in the attached photo who police officials say is sought in connection with a commercial robbery that occurred in Mt. Hope.

 

Police that on Friday, July 7, at around 4.27 p.m., a man entered the Snipes apparel and streetwear store, located at 66 East Burnside and approached a 31-year-old female store employee about making a purchase. “The individual then displayed a handgun and told the employee to place merchandise in a green laundry bag he was carrying,” a police spokesperson said. “The individual removed approximately $2,000 in merchandise and fled the store on foot heading westbound on Jerome Avenue toward the 4 train at the Burnside Avenue train station.”

 

Police said no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

 

The person sought is described as male, is approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall, has a dark complexion and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white tank top, blue jeans, and gold and black sneakers, according to the NYPD. He was last seen carrying the green laundry bag.

 

Attached is a photo showing the person after the incident, obtained at the Burnside Avenue train station, police said.
