Affordable housing units in an eight-story, residential building are still available at 2026 Walton Avenue in the Mt Hope section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY. Designed by Fred Geremia Architects & Planners, and developed by G & E Walton Developers, the structure yields 43 residential units.

Available on NYC Housing Connect, the online portal for New York City Department  of Housing, Preservation & Development, are 13 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $44,400 to $167,570.

Amenities include a shared laundry room and security cameras, and units come equipped with name-brand appliances and finishes and intercoms. Tenants are responsible for household electricity and the landlord is responsible for heat and hot water.

At 130 percent of the AMI, there are four studios with a monthly rent of $1,295 for incomes ranging from $44,400 to $124,150, seven one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,495 for incomes ranging from $51,258 to $139,620; and two two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,795 for incomes ranging from $61,543 to $167,570.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for the apartments, and applications must be postmarked or submitted online or by mail no later than Feb. 14, 2022.

 

To request an application by mail, applicants should send a self-addressed envelope to MGNY Consulting, c/o 2026 Walton Avenue Apartments, 109 East 9th Street, Storefront, NY, NY 10003. Applicants should not apply both online and by mail.

The building is anticipated to receive a tax exemption under NYC HPD’s 421a tax incentive program. No deposits or application fees apply. More information can be found at https://housingconnect.nyc.gov/PublicWeb/
