Mt. Hope: 23-Year-Old Man Dies following Shooting

A 23-year-old man has died in the Mt. Hope section of The Bronx following a shooting on Sunday, Aug. 25.

 

Police said the incident occurred at around 2.52 p.m. when officers from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call about a person who had been shot at 265 East 176th Street.

 

“Upon arrival, officers were informed that a 23-year-old male was shot twice in the chest by an unidentified individual after a verbal dispute,” a police spokesperson said. “The unidentified male fled the location eastbound on East 176 Street. EMS transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.”

 

There are no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing, police said. The deceased has been identified as Carlos Rivera, of Clay Avenue in Mt. Hope in The Bronx.
