Morris Heights: Man Arrested for 1996 Murder of 36-Year-Old Jasmine Porter

The NYPD have made an arrest in a 26-year-old murder case that took place in Morris Heights.

 

An NYPD spokesperson said, “On Feb. 5, 1996, police responded to a call of an unconscious female inside of 1706 Davidson Avenue in the confines of the 46 Precinct. Upon arrival, police discovered an unconscious 36-year-old female with trauma to the neck. The Medical Examiner deemed her death a homicide.”

 

They said the victim was identified as Jasmine Porter of 1706 Davidson Avenue, Bronx, NY.

 

On August 8 [2022] Gregory Fleetwood, 66, of 3507 Laconia Avenue in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the case.

A person arrested and charged with an offense is deemed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
