Morris Heights Fire

A fire broke out at Morris Heights on Monday, May 11, 2020

FDNY responded to an alert of smoke exiting the windows of Apt. 10A at 140 W. 174th Street, a 14-story, high-rise, multiple dwelling in Morris Heights at 11:40 a.m. on May 11. Twenty units and 78 members of FDNY were deployed to the scene. One victim was transferred to St. Barnabas Hospital. The fire was brought under control by 12:25 p.m., and the cause is currently under investigation.
