FDNY officials said a report of a fire in University Heights at a location opposite the site of a partial building collapse that occurred last Monday was a false alarm.

An FDNY spokesperson said the fire department responded to a report of a fire on Sunday, Dec. 17, at around 5 p.m. at 1901 Hennessy Place in University Heights, which is located across the street from 1915 Billingsley Terrace on the border of Morris Heights and University Heights, where a building partially collapsed last Monday, Dec. 11., as reported.

A verified video included in a post on the Citizens’ App on Sunday showed a fire truck on its way to 1901 Hennessy Place in response to  what was referred to as a building collapse. However, when contacted, police confirmed there was a report of a fire at the location but, as above, FDNY later confirmed it was a false alarm finally.

Meanwhile, as reported, two people were shot on West Burnside Avenue in the vicinity of a smoke shop in University Heights on Friday, Dec. 15.
