Morris Heights: 19-Year-Old Arrested following Fatal Stabbing of Older Man

A 41-year-old man has died following a fatal stabbing in Morris Heights police said.

 

On Wednesday, Sept. 7, at around 7.20 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been stabbed in front of 20 Richmond Plaza in the Morris Heights section of The Bronx, located in the 46th Precinct.

 

“Officers responded to St. Barnabas Hospital, where they observed a 41-year-old male with a stab wound to the left side of the neck,” an NYPD spokesperson said. “The male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at St. Barnabas Hospital,” the spokesperson added. The deceased was later identified as Perlon Felder, 41, of Morris Heights.

 

On Friday, Sept. 16, the NYPD said that pursuant to an ongoing investigation, Jahsean Franklin, 19, also of Morris Heights, was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 15, at 11.20 a.m. in the 46th Precinct. He was charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

 

A person arrested and charged with a crime is deemed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
