A car accident which occurred on Tuesday, March 21, at 40 West 225th Street near the Target store in the Marble Hill section of The Bronx has resulted in the hospitalization of one person.
The incident was confirmed by an FDNY spokesperson on Tuesday who said they received a call regarding the collision at 1.36 p.m.
Norwood News photographer, Miriam Quiñones, was at the scene of the incident around the time it occurred and said four cars appear to have been involved. She said she understood three had been parked at the time the incident occurred. “A man and a woman just finished shopping and were walking to their car and noticed it wasn’t their car that got hit,” she said.
“One was driving with a man as driver and an older woman who didn’t get out of the car until EMS got her out. She was able to walk to the ambulance a few feet away,” she added.
Emergency services were later seen at the site of the crash. Quiñones said the driver of one of the cars said he didn’t know what happened.
She added that ambulance personnel at the scene appeared to be treating the driver and one female passenger for injuries. The woman was heard saying that her knees and back were hurting.
The FDNY later confirmed one patient was transported to Jacobi Medical Center in Morris Park, and that the condition of the patient was unknown.
