A 36-year-old man from The Bronx has been arrested following the murder of another man in Marble Hill in mid-September.
Officers from the 50th Precinct had responded to a 911 call on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at around 6.29 p.m. for a report of an assault in front of 130 West 228th Street.
“Upon arrival, officers observed a 44-year-old male victim with multiple stab wounds throughout the body,” a police spokesperson said. “The victim was transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital by EMS, where he was pronounced deceased.”
The deceased was later identified as Juan Martinez, 44, of Marble Hill in The Bronx.
Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, police said Bryant Gonzalez of Andrews Avenue in the Morris Heights section of The Bronx was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at around 3.35 p.m. He was charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.
A person arrested and charged with a crime is deemed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
