Man Arrested in Murder Case of 26-Year-Old Man from Laconia

Police confirm they have arrested a 30-year-old man from Allerton in the context of the murder investigation of Wayne Leon, 26, of Laconia who was was killed earlier this month.

 

As reported, on Sept. 18, at approximately 10.35 a.m., police responded to a call regarding an assault that occurred inside 3400 Wickham Avenue, Leon’s home, in the Laconia section of the Bronx, located in the 47th precinct.

 

Upon arrival, officers observed a 26-year-old man, lying unconscious and unresponsive in the hallway with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. EMS responded and transported the Leon to Jacobi Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

 

On Sept. 24, pursuant to an ongoing investigation, police confirmed that David Mattison, 30, of Allerton was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 1.25 a.m. in the 47th precinct. He was charged with murder, manslaughter, two counts of attempted robbery, assault, burglary, and criminal possession of a weapon (a loaded firearm).

 

The investigation remains ongoing.
