Man Arrested following Assault on 79-Year-Old Bus Passenger

A 30-year-old man has been arrested following an assault on a 79-year-old bus passenger aboard the BX12 bus according to police.

 

The NYPD had been asking for the public’s help locating the man seen in the attached photo and video who was sought in connection with the incident that occurred aboard the bus traveling in the area south of Co-op City.

 

Police said, “On Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 15.28 hours (3.28 p.m.) aboard a BX12 MTA bus in the vicinity of Bartow Avenue and Edson Avenue, an unidentified disorderly male spat at the victim, a 79-year-old male passenger who was seated on the bus.” They added, “The victim approached the unidentified male who then punched the victim in the face and fled on foot.”

 

The 79-year-old victim was transported by EMS in stable condition to Jacobi Medical Center. A photo and video of the incident are attached.

 

Pursuant to the ongoing investigation, Donnell Minor, a 30-year-old undomiciled man, was later arrested and charged with assault in the 47th precinct on Tuesday, April 19.

A person arrested and charged with a crime is innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
