Local Students Enjoy Trip to Bronx Zoo

Under the leadership of Principal Serge Marshall Davis, members of the Animals and Exercise Club at P.S. / M.S. 95 Sheila Mencher School enjoy special opportunities, and recently that included a trip to the Wildlife Conservation Society at the Bronx Zoo.

During their recent trip, students recounted stories of exciting sightings of flamingos, brown bears, tigers, wild dogs, red pandas, reptiles, giraffes, turtles and crocodiles. In addition, they said beautiful big peacocks strutted around the zoo, loose among the visitors.

The trip was a chance for students to learn first-hand about animals, develop empathy for them, and get some good exercise for the day.
