The year’s eleventh edition of the Norwood News is out with plenty of great community news stories to dive into. There’s almost something happening in this corner of the Bronx, and we’ve captured a good chunk of it. And as usual, we’ll start with page one!
Our front-page story analyzes the ongoing construction happening in Norwood and Bedford Park. It’s part of a larger trend of construction happening in the city. Read the story by me and Alondra Vasquez. Also, you maybe want to check out our map outlining some projects.
Inside the cover you’ll find a piece on Right to Counsel, a mandated service where the city provides free lawyers to tenants facing eviction. We also have a piece on a newly created Bronx Private Industry Council. Meantime, photographer Adi Talwar captures the glitz of the Bronx Week festivities that wrapped up on Mosholu Parkway. Very eye-catching photos there.
The Norwood News also highlights this year’s very generous awards season, where several journalism clubs honored us for our work. See the full recap on page seven.
The Norwood News also brings you the regular staples–Inquiring Photographer, Neighborhood Notes, and Out & About. We hope these features make you the smartest person in the Bronx.
So check out the latest edition of the Norwood News. Comments are always welcome. Send them to dcruz@norwoodnews.org or tweet directly to me at @CWEBCRUZER. We’re always eager to read them, and sometimes publish them! And don’t forget to vote!
