The award-winning Norwood News is proud to present its latest edition of its bi-weekly newspaper that’s available in 300 locations throughout the northwest Bronx. Or you can read up on community news you can use from your mobile device and soak in plenty of eye-catching news.
Before we delve into the top story, we want to divert your attention to page six in the newspaper: an award for Best Small Circulation Publication by the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism’s annual Ippies awards. Find out what the judges have to say about this newspaper filled with original reporting. It was a special moment for the 26-year publication.
Now some news: the Norwood News looks into a proposal by the de Blasio Administration to expand more affordable housing by putting the kibosh on a parking requirement. The proposal is not sitting well with Norwood and Bedford Park residents, who know too well how bad the search for parking can be in and around the neighborhood.
This edition is somewhat of an ad hoc ode to the work generated by the Mosholu Preservation Corporation, which publishes the Norwood News. In it you’ll find a litany of accomplishments by MPC over the last year, and its constant partnerships with local elected officials. You’ll also find a write-up on its sanitation initiative with support from Councilman Andrew Cohen.
We also have your regular staples: Inquiring Photographer, Out & About, Be Healthy and The Bronx Beltway (it took a one-edition respite). If you’re looking to get some fresh air, stop by one of the number of 300 offices, restaurants, and clinics to grab a copy of the Norwood News and read up!
