The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual seen in the attached photo who is wanted for questioning in relation to an assault which occurred in the 52nd precinct / Transit District 11.
It was reported to police that on Sunday, Sept. 12, at 11.07 a.m., on board a northbound D train, a 26-year-old male victim got into a verbal dispute with an unidentified individual. When the train entered the Kingsbridge Road station, in Fordham Manor, both the victim and the suspect detrained and the dispute escalated into a physical confrontation on the platform.
The suspect then displayed a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest and abdomen, before attempting to remove the victim’s book bag. The suspect fled the station topside to parts unknown. The victim was transported, via EMS, to Saint Barnabas Hospital in critical condition but is currently listed in stable condition.
The suspect is described as male, approximately 5 feet, 4 inches tall, has a dark complexion and a short black afro. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, a black T-shirt and black pants.
The surveillance photo, obtained from the Kingsbridge Road station around the time the incident occurred, is attached.
Norwood News reported on Wednesday, Sept. 15, that the MTA completed the installation of security cameras in all subway stations across the City in an effort to combat crime.
