Kingsbridge: Theory 9 Hosts “Holiday Joy Fest: An Evening of Celebration and Giving”

Theory 9 Inc. held its annual Holiday Joy Fest, a festive evening designed to bring joy and holiday cheer to the community on Dec. 20, at the Marie Curie High School, located at 120 West 231st Street in Kingsbridge.

Established in 2019, Theory 9 Inc. is a nonprofit organization that works to improve the lives of NYC residents through a variety of programs and initiatives.

 

These include education mentoring, health and wellness, monthly food distributions, and annual community events.

Its representatives say it focuses on the growth and well being of the Kingsbridge community and has hosted previous holiday events, basketball tournaments, and school drives for the neighborhood.

The Holiday Joy Fest brought an array of exciting activities for children aged 1 to 14, including toys, treats, raffles, games, and much more, bringing families together to celebrate the season in a warm and welcoming environment.

The nonprofit partnered with other community supporters for the event, including District 14 Council Member Pierina Sanchez, Toys for Tots, CPRF Charity, Boost Mobile, and Catrock Ventures.

“We are excited to host this event and bring the community together during the holiday season,” said Shakir Seagers, founder of Theory 9. “Our goal is to spread joy and create lasting memories for the children and families we serve.”

Seager said the Holiday Joy Fest was part of what he described as Theory 9’s ongoing commitment to improving the lives of Kingsbridge residents through humanitarian efforts and community engagement.

He said by providing enriching activities and resources, the nonprofit continues to build gateways to success and promote self-sufficiency among the individuals it serves.
