The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an individual wanted for questioning in connection to the below listed homicide that occurred within the confines of the 52nd precinct.
Pursuant an ongoing investigation, detectives have submitted two additional videos of an individual who is wanted for questioning in connection to the case.
On Sunday, July 26, 2020, at approximately 1:38 a.m., police responded a 911 call regarding an unconscious, aided, transgender woman inside of 2575 Jerome Avenue, on the 3rd floor hallway, within the confines of the 52nd precinct, in the Fordham Manor section of the Bronx. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious and unidentified female, approximately 25 to 35 years of age, with a stab wound to the chest.
The victim was transported by EMS to Saint Barnabas hospital, where she was pronounced deceased at 2:22 a.m. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing. The deceased has been identified as Tiffany Harris, a 32-year-old transgender woman from 55 East 176 Street, Bronx NY.
Gay City News also reported on the incident on July 27, saying in part, “Police officers found the 32-year-old victim, identified by Princess Janae Place as Tiffany Harris, unconscious with stab wounds inside the third floor hallway at 2575 Jerome Avenue shortly after 1:30 a.m Sunday morning in the Fordham Manor section of the Bronx”. Princess Janae Place is an organization that supports homeless LGBTQ adults in the tri-state area.
The individual who is wanted for questioning is described as a male, Black, last seen wearing a white T-shirt and dark pants.
The motive for the killing is unknown as of the time of publication.
On Aug. 12, the NYPD issued an update, writing that Alpha Diallo, 21, of Sedgewick Avenue, The Bronx was arrested on charges of murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.
