The NYPD is appealing to the public for help identifying and locating the person seen in the attached video and photos who department officials say is wanted for questioning in connection to a theft that occurred in transit in the Kingsbridge section of The Bronx.
Police said that on Friday, May 19, at around 2.10 p.m., a 15-year-old female victim boarded an MTA BX7 bus at 217 West 231st Street. They said that a person unknown to the victim boarded at the same time and sat down next to her.
“When the bus stopped at 265 West 231 Street, the person snatched the victim’s iPhone 13 Pro Max out of her hand and exited the bus through the rear door, fleeing to parts unknown,” a police spokesperson said. “The victim was not injured in this incident.”
The individual sought is described as male, has a medium complexion, a bald head, and a black beard. He was last seen wearing a blue plaid shirt, a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black shoes.
