Kingsbridge Heights: Woman Robbed Aboard Train While Sleeping

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating the people seen in the attached photos who department officials say are sought in connection to a robbery that occurred in Kingsbridge Heights.

 

Police said that on Saturday, May 6, at around 4 a.m., a 27-year-old female victim was onboard a northbound 4 subway approaching the East Kingsbridge Road station, when two people stole her handbag from her lap while she was sleeping.

 

Police said, “Property stolen included the victim’s handbag, which contained a cellphone, wallet, credit cards, personal ID and other personal items.” They added, “The two individuals exited the train at the East 170 Street station, where Individual #2 attempted to use one of the victim’s stolen credit cards to make a purchase at a bodega located at 287 East 170 Street, but was unsuccessful.”

Police said Individual 1 is described as male, is estimated to be in his ’20s, has a dark complexion, a slim build and black hair. He was last seen wearing a multi-colored jacket with a black hood and black pants, police said.

 

Individual 2 is described by police as female, is also estimated to be in her ’20s, has a dark complexion, a medium build, and black hair in braids with dyed ends. She was last seen wearing a black, hooded, winter jacket with a brown scarf, black sweatpants, and blue sneakers.

 

The attached photos photos show both suspects exiting the East 170th Street station and a photo showing Individual 2 inside 287 East 170th Street.
