Kingsbridge Heights: Infant Suffers Cardiac Arrest Seemingly During Church Service

A female infant reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest in the vicinity of Kingsbridge Heights church on Sunday and was later transferred to hospital, emergency services offiicials said. Her condition is unknown.

According to police radio transmission exchanges on the incident, police were heard saying that when they arrived at Bethel Global Methodist Church at 3404 Bailey Avenue on Sunday afternoon, July 14, a 2-year-old baby girl was apparently not breathing and CPR was already being administered (possibly by a civilian).

Before the child was transported to a local hospital, a police officer on scene was heard saying that the child was breathing once again.

A representative from FDNY/EMS later confirmed that emergency services were alerted to a report of a cardiac arrest on Sunday, July 14, at 2.09 p.m. at 3404 Bailey Avenue, between West 234th Street and Bailey Place, the address for Bethel Global Methodist Church.

They said one patient was transported to Montefiore Medical Center and neither the patient’s condition nor their description was known. Meanwhile, when contacted about the incident, the NYPD referred us to the FDNY.
