Several verified videos posted to the Citizens App show FDNY personnel at the scene, and smoke rising into the air from what appears to be a semi-high-rise building.
The deceased has been identified as Sherry Anderson, 57, of 2835 Webb Avenue in the Bronx.
As above, though the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, amid the holiday season, where holiday lights are popular, and with the arrival of colder weather which, perhaps, prompts greater use of electric heaters, the FDNY has been warning residents to be careful not to overload sockets with multiple appliances, as it can lead to electrical fires.
Meanwhile, an e-bike fatal fire was recently reported by The NY Daily News and other outlets in lower Manhattan, reportedly caused by the charging of several e-bike batteries inside a residential building, with two young people having to shimmy down an outside pipe to get to safety.
Norwood News is continuing to follow up with the FDNY in relation to the cause of the fire.
