Kingsbridge: Christmas Day Residential Fire Results in No Injuries

A residential fire which broke out in Kingsbridge on the morning of Christmas Day, Dec. 25, resulted in no injuries, FDNY officials said.

 

According to the FDNY, firefighters were called to 275 W 238 St., Bronx, at 9:33 a.m. for a report of smoke/fire in a 6-story, multiple dwelling.

They said the 2-alarm fire originated in the top floor/cockloft of the building.

In the end, they said 25 units comprising 106 fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and the blaze was brought under control at 10.28 a.m.

 

Fire officials said there were no injuries and the cause is under investigation.

As reported, arson was ruled as the cause of a commercial fire on Oct. 10 that ripped through several small businesses on Bainbridge Avenue in Norwood.

 

Last month, on Nov. 20, in Bedford Park, two young kids helped their family members escape a residential fire at the second of two in Bronx Community District 7 that evening, the first of which was fatal.

Meanwhile, in the early hours of Wednesday, Nov. 13, 5-alarm fire destroyed several small businesses in Kingsbridge. The cause is still under investigation.
