An affordable housing lottery remains open until May 23 for units at 3436 Kingsbridge Avenue, a six-story, mixed-use, residential building in the Kingsbridge section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY. Designed by Gerald J. Caliendo Architect and developed by Benjamin Shavolian, the structure yields 39 residential units and 4,816 square feet of community facility space.
Available on NYC Housing Connect, the online platform of NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD), are 12 units for residents earning 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $73,715 to $187,330.
The 3436 Kingsbridge Avenue Apartments are part of a newly constructed building consisting of 12 affordable housing units. The project incorporates studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units which include high-end countertops and finishes and energy-efficient appliances.
According to NYC Housing Connect, amenities include a garage with electric vehicle charging stations, bike storage, a recreation room, a shared laundry room, a common Wi-Fi area, a gym, a business center, a recycling center, storage, and an outdoor terrace.
Amenities also include name-brand kitchen countertops and finishes, energy-efficient appliances, air conditioning, and high-speed internet.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are three studios with a monthly rent of $2,150 for those on incomes ranging from $73,715 to $138,840; three one-bedroom units with a monthly rent of $2,200 for residents on incomes ranging from $75,429 to $156,130; and six two-bedroom units with a monthly rent of $2,800 for residents with incomes ranging from $96,000 to $187,330.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than May 23, 2023.
To request an application by mail, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to 3436 Kingsbridge Ave Apartments c/o iAfford NY LLC, Brooklyn Navy Yard, Building 77, 141 Flushing Avenue, 12th Floor, Suite 1201A, Brooklyn, NY 11205. HPD advises applicants to only send one application per development.
Tenants will be responsible for electricity including electric including stove and heat and gas including hot water.
According to HPD, service animals, and pets weighing up to 50 pounds are allowed in the building.
According to HPD, the building is anticipated to receive a tax exemption through the department’s 421a tax incentive program.
