Highbridge: Woman Fatally Shot in Car, Man Shot in Leg

Police responded to a 911 call about a person who had been shot in front of 1125 University Avenue, in the Highbridge section of The Bronx, in the 44th precinct, on Monday, April 5, at approximately 10.12 p.m.

 

Upon arrival, officers observed two adult victims inside a late model Bentley, both having sustained gunshot wounds. The first, a 39-year-old woman, the front seat passenger, sustained gunshot wounds to her neck and torso. The second, a 37-year-old man, the vehicle operator, sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg.

 

EMS responded to the location and transported both victims to NYC Health & Hospital/Lincoln, where the woman was pronounced deceased, and the man remains listed in stable condition. There are no arrests and the investigations remains ongoing.

 

The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
