Highbridge: HPD Launches Affordable Housing Lottery for Units at 92 West 169th Street

NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD) have launched an affordable housing lottery for units at 92 West 169th Street, a four-story residential building in the Highbridge section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY.

 

Designed by Boaz M. Golani Architect and developed by Isra Holdings, the structure yields 38 residential units. Available on NYC Housing Connect, HPD’s online platform, are 12 units for residents earning 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $76,663 to $198,250.

According to HPD, units include name-brand kitchen appliances and finishes, large windows, and hardwood floors. Tenants are responsible for electricity.

 

At 130 percent of the AMI, there are six studios with a monthly rent of $2,236 for those on incomes ranging from $76,663 to $146,900; four one-bedroom units with a monthly rent of $2,275 for residents with incomes ranging from $78,000 to $165,230; and two two-bedroom units with a monthly rent of $3,773 for incomes ranging from $129,360 to $198,250.

 

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than Oct. 17.

To request an application by mail, HPD advises residents to send a self-addressed envelope to 92 West 169th Street Apartments, c/o iAfford NY LLC, 141 Flushing Avenue Building 77, 12th Floor, Suite 1201a, Brooklyn, NY 11205. Only one application should be submitted per lottery. Tenants are responsible for electric including stove.

 

This building is anticipated to receive a tax exemption through HPD’s 421a tax incentive program, according to HPD officials, and no deposits or application fees apply. More information can be found at https://iaffordny.com/
