It’s that time of year foodies crave—Restaurant Week in the Bronx.
The 4th annual restaurant week “Savor the Bronx” kicked off Monday, Nov. 3, lasting until Friday, Nov.14 with several Bronx eateries taking part. Over two dozen restaurants tucked within Arthur Avenue, City Island, Morris Park and Mott Haven will offer up dishes at discounted prices.
“We have so many great flavors in our borough, and I hope everyone—visitors and locals alike-will take advantage of this promotion and try something new,” said Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
The BP ushered Restaurant Week at The Bronx Beer Hall at the busy Arthur Avenue Retail Market. The promotional event is once again intended to burnish the image of the Bronx, sometimes spoken on negative terms.
The Bronx is known for a lot of different things but seldom known for its famous food spots in all corners of the borough. Restaurant Week is intended to bolster the restaurant side of the borough.
The “food revolution” was certainly helped by CNN’s popular TV show “Parts Unknown” with Anthony Bourdain, which aired a segment on the Bronx food industry.
For those who missed it – the bottom line is that foodies don’t have to go to Brooklyn or Queens to join delicious food in spots packed with hipsters. Because the Bronx shows up with a sprawl of good restaurants and food without any “side effects”!
Among the participating restaurants there are loads of different cuisines from all over the world.
