The operator of the gas station, located at 2985 Jerome Avenue, by Bedford Park Boulevard West, near the elevated traintracks for the 4 train, recalled a heavy rain and windstorm on Friday, April 12, that left the sign damaged, and at an acute angle.

Workers at the gas station have placed bright yellow caution tape and traffic cones around the sign to warn pedestrians and others of its possible collapse, and said it will soon be fixed. However, they added that people continue to walk near it, oblivious to the potential danger.

As reported, the gas station was robbed at gunpoint in August 2023.
