A residential fire in a multiple dwelling has been reported by the FDNY on the third floor of 13 Buchanan Place in the University Heights section of The Bronx.
The incident was also reported on the Citizen’s App. According to Citizen users, firefighters were responding to a report of smoke coming from the roof of a house at around 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 8.

Norwood News reached out to the FDNY for more details about the incident. At 9.31 p.m., FDNY confirmed the agency was advised at 8.56 p.m. of the fire at the stated location in a three-story, private dwelling. A representative confirmed that 12 fire units responded to the scene, comprising 60 FDNY members.
As of 9.31 p.m., the fire chief on site determined that the fire could probably be controlled with the units assigned. No injuries were reported at that time.
At 10.13 p.m., the FDNY confirmed that the fire had been brought under control at 9.33 p.m. and confirmed no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
