The NYPD has released photos of two people and are asking for the public’s help identifying them in connection with a shooting (“reckless endangerment incident”) that took place in the vicinity of St. James Park in Fordham Manor the week before a more deadly shooting took place in roughly the same area.
Police said that on Thursday, July 6, at around 8.15 p.m., in the vicinity of St. James Park, some unidentified individuals fired shots, “causing a grave risk of death or serious physical injury to members of the public in the park.” They said, they then fled on foot into 2244 Creston Avenue in Fordham Heights. There were no injuries reported as result of this incident.
As previously reported, another shooting took place adjacent to St. James Park on East 193rd Street and Morris Avenue the following Tuesday, July 11, in which four people, including two children under the age of 7, were shot. All are reported to be in stable condition. Police also released photos of the suspects wanted in connection with the July 11th shooting.
