Police have launched a murder investigation after a 34-year-old man died following a stabbing in Fordham Manor on Wednesday afternoon, July 31.
Officers from the 52nd Precinct said they responded to a 911 call at around 1.37 p.m. about a man who had been stabbed at 2448 University Avenue, located within the confines of the 52nd Precinct.
“Upon arrival, officers observed a 34-year-old male with a stab wound to the chest inside the location,” a police spokesperson said. “The victim was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.”

Police said there are no arrests at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending proper family notification. Norwood News spoke to a family member of the victim who said they were not blood related and will share further details once the victim has been formally identified.
