A 33-year-old man is in stable condition after a non-fatal stabbing took place in Fordham Manor. Police said they received a call at 2.37 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, for reports of a stabbing at 201 East Fordham Road at the Grand Concourse [a Chick-fil-A restaurant]. They said the victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition and remained uncooperative when questioned about the incident.

They said no perpetrator description was available, and the investigation remained ongoing. The same day police were seen cordoning off a section of the Grand Concourse located close to East 188th Street. We spoke to some employees of a store in the area who said the stabbing hadn’t, to their knowledge, taken place there but the victim later arrived there injured, and had been waiting for an ambulance to arrive at the location.

We later spoke to a street vendor who was working close to the Chick-fil-A on East Fordham Road and the Grand Concourse, who said he had been there since 8 a.m. on Sunday. In reference to the stabbing, he said, “People tell me this all day, but I see nothing.” Other vendors on the Grand Concourse also said they had not seen anything.

Police were seen on East Fordham Road and Valentine Avenue, a block from the Grand Concourse, later that day talking to some residents close to the Target store, though it was unclear if their discussions related to the stabbing incident or something else. [We have cropped out of the attached photo the people they were speaking to for safety reasons.]
