On Tuesday, Nov. 16, at approximately 6.07 a.m. police responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle at 2625 Jerome Avenue.
Upon arrival, police observed an 80-year-old man lying on the roadway with trauma to his head and right leg. EMS also responded and transported the man to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased later that day.
A preliminary investigation determined that the man was struck by a blue Sport Utility Vehicle that had been traveling southbound on Jerome Avenue. The driver did not remain at the scene and fled southbound on Jerome Avenue. The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.
The deceased has been identified as Tung Vo, 80, of Creston Avenue in Fordham Manor in the Bronx.
