Fordham Manor: 50-Year-Old Man Dies Amid Dispute

Police said a 50-year-old man has died following an assault in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx and have launched a murder investigation following the incident.

 

Police officials said that on Friday, Sept. 1, at around 00.32 a.m., the victim was involved in a dispute at 2631 Marion Avenue, when another, as yet unidentified, man hit him over the head with a glass bottle, causing a laceration to his neck.

 

They said he was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced deceased. “There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing at this time,” police said.

 

The deceased has been identified as Mario Fernandez of Marion Avenue, The Bronx.
