Fordham Manor: 50-Year-Old Kingsbridge Heights Man Arrested following 2021 Fatal Hit & Run

Police said a 50-year-old man from Kingsbridge Heights has been arrested following a hit and run vehicle accident in 2021 in which an 80-year-old, Fordham Manor resident was killed.

 

As reported at the time, on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at approximately 6.07 a.m. police responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle at 2625 Jerome Avenue.

 

Upon arrival, police observed an 80-year-old man lying on the roadway with trauma to his head and right leg. EMS also responded and transported the man to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased later that day.

 

A preliminary investigation determined that the man was struck by a blue Sport Utility Vehicle that had been traveling southbound on Jerome Avenue. The driver did not remain at the scene and fled southbound on Jerome Avenue. The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad was investigating.

 

The deceased was later identified as Tung Vo, 80, of Creston Avenue in Fordham Manor in the Bronx.

 

On April 12, pursuant to an ongoing investigation, police said on that Pedro Guzman of Sedgwick Avenue was arrested on April 11 and charged the same day at 5.44 p.m. within the confines of the 50th Precinct, which covers some or all of the neighborhoods of Riverdale, Fieldston, Kingsbridge, Marble Hill, and Spuyten Duyvil.

 

Guzman has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. He is deemed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
