A 26-year-old man was stabbed twice in the leg during a physical altercation in Fordham Manor, police said.
An NYPD spokesperson said police received a complaint regarding an assault in front of 1 East Kingsbridge Road on Tuesday, March 12, at around 8 p.m.
They said a 26-year-old male was involved in a physical altercation with an unknown male who stabbed the victim in the leg twice with a knife. “The suspect then fled the location on foot westbound on East Kingsbridge Road,” the spokesperson said. “The complainant ran to his residence and called 911.”
The victim was transported to St. Barnabus Hospital and is listed in stable condition, police said. They added that no suspect description is yet available and the investigation is ongoing.
Police were seen on Jerome Avenue in front of KIPP NYC Charter School a short distance away from the incident location around the time the incident occurred. Norwood News spoke to some residents and store employees in the area shortly afterwards but nobody had seen the assault take place.
