Asked if there was any description available for the perpetrator(s), the spokeswoman said, “Two male Hispanics, and one male, Black, wearing ski masks. They fled northbound on Morris Avenue.”

One man we spoke to, who had been in the vicinity of the shooting at the time it occurred, shared a video of the aftermath of the scene with us. It shows one young man lying on the street with several people surrounding him, a few seemingly assisting him, while others called for an ambulance. Police are later seen arriving and cordoning off the area. The man said he knew one of the victims but did not wish to comment further or give his name.

We also spoke to two other local employees in the area, neither of whom saw the shooting and did not wish to be identified. The male employee said he just saw the street cordoned off and police arriving afterwards as he was on his way to work nearby. A female employee said she was unclear about what happened, adding, “Some people (customers) said two people were shot and others said three. I don’t know.”

Another local resident who did not wish to be identified and did not see the shooting said it was shocking, and added in Spanish, “Innocent people… [shot] just like that..” Pressed on whether he knew the victims were innocent bystanders, he said he did not.
