Police are looking for the gunman who shot an 18-year-old male youth on Creston Avenue in Fordham Heights on Sunday afternoon.

According to a police spokesperson, officers from the 46th Precinct responded to 110 East 182nd Street after they received a 911 call at 3:37 p.m. on Sunday, April 7.

The spokeswoman told Norwood News late Sunday, “Upon arrival, officers discovered an 18-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the left hip.”

She continued, “The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition. We have no arrests at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.”

According to police radio communications heard around the time of the shooting, officers were looking for two male Black suspects who fled from the shooting scene on a scooter.

Further south in the Crotona section of the borough, three and a half hours later, at 7:30 p.m., a crowd estimated at 25, gathered at East Tremont Avenue and Marmion Avenue, where friends and family remembered Stefon Barnes, 29, of Manhattan, who, as reported, was shot and killed as he purchased food in a deli in the area on Sunday, March 31.

The crowd released white balloons as they lit candles and left flowers in tribute to Barnes. Friends say he had been working as a bouncer at a nearby club and was on a break when he was shot.

One friend of the victim told Norwood News that Barnes had been purchasing a sandwich while another man was being robbed inside the deli and said Barnes was an innocent bystander during the fatal incident.
