Pursuant to an ongoing investigation into the murder of a 21-year-old man in Fordham Heights in October 2021, detectives from the 46th precinct shared additional surveillance video on Sunday, Dec. 12, which shows an additional individual who is sought for questioning in connection with the incident. The video is attached.
As reported, on Sunday, Oct. 24, at approximately 8.49 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot at 2253 Ryer Avenue in Fordham Heights. Upon arrival, police observed a 21-year-old man, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head.
EMS also responded and transported the man to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased on Tuesday, Oct. 26. The incident was classified as a murder investigation but there were no immediate arrests. The deceased was later identified as Saiko Koma, 21, of East 180th Street in the Crotona section of the Bronx.
As reported, on Nov. 5, an unnamed 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with murder in relation to the ongoing investigation.
On Dec. 8, police confirmed that Samson Walston, 22, of Morris Avenue in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx, was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon, in connection with the investigation on Nov. 14.
Police also confirmed that on Dec. 7, Jayran Liranzo, 19, of Grand Concourse, in Fordham Heights, was also arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon in relation to the investigation.
A person charged with a crime is innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
