Fordham Heights: Police Launch Murder Investigation following Multiple Shooting

A 28-year-old man has died following a multiple shooting that took place in the Fordham Heights section of The Bronx, police said.

 

The NYPD said that on Saturday, July 13, at around 10.18 p.m., officers from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding an assault in progress in the vicinity of 2247 Webster Avenue. “Upon arrival, officers observed a 28-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his torso and a 26-year-old female with a gunshot wound to her hand,” a police spokesperson said.

 

The spokesperson continued, “The 26-year-old woman was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition. The 28-year-old male was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced deceased. There are no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.”

Police said the deceased has been identified as Thomas McCellan, 28, of East 171st Street in the Claremont section of The Bronx.
