Fordham Heights: MTA Employee Assaulted in Subway Station

The NYPD is appealing to the public for assistance identifying the person seen in the attached video who department officials say is sought in connection with an assault on an MTA employee that occurred in Fordham Heights.

 

Police said that on Wednesday July 5, at around 5.30 a.m., a man approached an on-duty MTA employee at the 182nd-183rd Street subway station and got into a verbal dispute with him. They said the man then displayed a knife, threatened to stab the employee, and punched him in the face. They said he later fled the station. “The victim was removed by EMS to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries,” a police spokesperson said.

 

Police said the person sought is described as male, has a medium complexion, is around 50 years of age, is around 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and was last seen wearing a gray baseball cap, black shorts, a black t-shirt, and sneakers.
