The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in the attached photos who they said is sought in connection with a robbery that occurred in transit on the border of Fordham Heights and University Heights.
Police said that on Thursday, April 13, at around 4.45 a.m., a 33-year-old male victim was sitting on the southbound 4 train which was heading toward the 183rd Street Station when an unidentified man, unknown to the victim, approached him and punched him multiple times in the face.
A police spokesperson said the suspect then stole the victim’s backpack and exited the train at the 183rd Street station, heading to parts unknown. “The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition,” the spokesperson added.
Police said the suspect is described as male, has a medium build, and is around 30 to 40 years old.
Meanwhile, as reported, a man armed with an imitation pistol who was reportedly acting “crazy” at 238th Street subway station in Kingsbridge on April 13, was later shot in the hand by police on the elevated subway track of the 231st Street subway station and later hospitalized. It followed a stand-off with police after the man, seen in a video of the incident, did not drop what appeared to be a gun despite requests by police to do so.
