Police are looking for a gunman who brazenly opened fire on a busy street in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx, yet miraculously did not hit anyone.
On Wednesday, Oct. 7, police spokeswoman, Detective Denise Moroney, said that officers from the 46th precinct had been called to Audio King, located at 4 East Fordham Road, following a report on Tuesday, Sept. 29, of shots fired at the location.
According to Moroney, the incident was reported at 2 p.m. on Sept. 29. “That was a reckless endangerment,” she said, referring to the daylight shooting.
“It states there were shots fired at that location,” she added, referring to the 911 call. No injuries were reported to the NYPD following the incident, according to Moroney.
“They did a canvas for ballistics, with positive results,” she said, referring to the search of the crime scene vicinity by the police investigations unit, and adding that police continue to investigate the incident, but that no description on the gunman is currently available.
The shooting took place as children were being dismissed from P.S. 33, located just around the corner on Jerome Avenue. It was the students’ first full day of on-site learning since the coronavirus pandemic resulted in the shutting of schools, and most businesses, in March.
