Stop & Shop, the neighborhood grocery store chain, announced the opening, on Dec. 31, of its first pick-up location in the Bronx, located at 1720 Eastchester Road, in Morris Park. The store said shoppers can now place their orders online at www.stopandshop.com, or via the Stop & Shop mobile app, select “pick-up” at their preferred store, head to the store at the pick-up time, park at the designated pick-up spot, and let the store’s team know once they have arrived. A Stop & Shop associate will load the purchased groceries into the customer’s car, minimizing both delays and physical contact with other shoppers.

“We’re excited to offer our customers the convenience of shopping online for all their favorite items, and then picking up that order from the comfort of their vehicle,” said Carolyn Richards, store manager of Stop & Shop at Eastchester Road. “We hope this service helps make things easier for them.”

Stop & Shop said it has also altered its pick-up policies to take into account the safety of its associates and customers. Customers are asked to have their trunk or door open and ready for associates to place their groceries inside the vehicle. Customers are also encouraged to wear masks and limit the number of people in their vehicle, when possible. All Stop & Shop Pick-up associates wear masks, and will take the same sanitary precautions as in-store associates, including surface sanitization and regular hand washing.

Due to high customer demand, Stop & Shop representatives said supply of certain items like disinfectant wipes or other cleaning products may be limited or unavailable. They also reminded customers to be aware that purchase limits are still in place for certain, high-demand items, and encouraged customers to allow for comparable substitutes.

A $30 minimum is required on all Pick-up orders and a $2.95 service fee will be applied at checkout. For more information on the new service, or to schedule a Pickup, the store said shoppers can visit their website at www.stopandshop.com, or download the Stop & Shop mobile app.
