The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (UPC) recalled, on Nov. 23, 270 Indigo-branded “Papa Bear” and “Mama Bear” mugs sold in the U.S. with batch numbers 1220, 0621, 1021 or 0920. The mugs are made of ceramic, and have a white exterior with either a “PAPA BEAR” or “MAMA BEAR” decal and white animal ears on the rim. The interior of the Papa Bear mug is blue and the interior of the Mama Bear mug is aqua.

Federal authorities recalled the mugs due to “burn and laceration hazards” and said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Papa Bear and Mama Bear mugs and return them to the Indigo store for a full refund.

There have been no reported incidents or injuries according to UPC officials who said the product was sold exclusively at the Indigo store in Short Hills, New Jersey from December 2020 through May 2022 for about $12.

The product was made in China, the manufacturer is Guangdong Totye Ceramics of Chaozhou and was imported by Indigo Books & Music Inc. of Short Hills, New Jersey

The recall number is 23-053.
