Edenwald: Murder Inquiry Launched following Fatal Shooting of 29-Year-Old Man

Police have launched a homicide investigation following the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man in in the Edenwald section of The Bronx.

 

Police said that on Sunday, May 19, at around 10.50 p.m., officers from the 47th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding two males who were shot in the vicinity of 4032 Ely Avenue.

 

“Upon arrival, officers observed a 29-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the head and a 40-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the left leg,” a police spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported both males to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi. The 29-year-old male was later pronounced deceased. The 40-year-old male is in stable condition at this time.”

 

Police said there were no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.

 

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending proper family notification.
